Girl Power and Science Friday

I was privileged to visit with the "Girl Power" club at Wright Charter School on Friday. The girls asked great questions about our experiences in college and how we got into our careers.  I know these girls will go far!

Science Friday was also happening at R.L. Stevens Elementary with lots of fun experiments that got both kids and families thinking about science.  These science nights are a result of a partnership UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science.

Melissa demonstrated momentum...

and showed just how fun spinning can be!

There were dozens of hands on experiments...

for the whole family to work on.

The AmeriCorps mentors and leaders got in the action.

These balloons were just too much fun for these two!

Lauren works with students to understand this tricky experiment.

Demonstrations showed the impact of electricity.

Taylor proves you are never too old to love science!
